Portal Management Extension PortaMx version 0.950

This release is a update for version 0.947 and also a full install package.

Because I found minor bugs after released, I have update the archive (filedate 30.10.08, 16:00).

These changes we made since version 0.947

Fixes:

  • redirected login (like coppermine) returns to forum

  • direct links in download, boardnews newtopics

  • forumpage overlaps the browserwindow on long lines, specially on code in messages

  • on call settings direct (from pulldownmenu) and a Admin login show, the settings destroy

  • upgrade, install and remove works if you have the Babylon and Classic themes removed

  • minor text bugs on language files

News:

  • xBar
The xBar is a simple and easy way to collapse or expand the panels at the top, left, right and bottom. It needs no icon, no changes to themes, or changes to any code from SMF. The xBars are small invisible areas around the browser window. If you move the mouse over the xBar area, the xBar is shown and you can click on it to collapse or expand the panel. If the mouse is on an xBar area, you can also scroll the window. The xBar stays in position.

  • xBarKey
The xBarKeys do the same as when you click on a xBar. For each panel you have a xBar Key. If you press the Ctrl-key simultaneously with an arrow key (left, right, top, bottom), the corresponding panel is collapsed or expanded.

  • Enable of Xbar and xBarKey
The xBars can be enabled for each Panel, the xBar Keys can be enabled/disabled globally.

  • Each panel has a setting to disable the "collapse function"
In the panel settings you can disable the collapse function, so the panel stays alway visible.

  • The title of each block can be adjusted to left, center or right
You can see the current status on the "block overview" and on "block edit".

  • Html block with teaser
On html blocks you can insert a teaser-mark. If you have a mark set, the output is cut at this point and a link to expand the block is added. If you click on this link, the full page is viewed. Also you can collapse the full page.

  • Image and Message preview with HighSlide JS
In the newposts and boardnews blocks you can preview the full post and the attached thumbnails. If you move the mouse over a shorten post, the message is light dimmed. If you click on the message, it's open in a HighSlide window. If you click on a attached thumbnail, it's open in second HighSlide window. You can disable the HighSlide preview in the block settings.

  • All admin css classes are removed from block's css files
All necessary css for admin is now defined in portamx.css.

  • PortaMx supports the right to left mode
This need verification by the user, they can read and test that.

  • Many modifications on SMF files are removed
Because PortaMx uses the new xBars to toggle the panels, many changes are removed from SMF files  and handled inside PortaMx.

  • Panels invisible on maintenace
On maintenance mode all panels are not visible for normal user.

  • Themes now changed permanetly
If you select a Theme from the Theme block, it's saved in your userprofile.

  • More flexibility on user defined css files
Now you can overwrite one (ore more) default classes and let all other unchanged. So it's simple to add a background image on blocks.
    See example: Themes/default/PortaMx/BlockCss/background.css

  • All text strings defined in PortaMx
We moved all textstrings, so no changes on SMF language files necessary.

  • New languages
German language (ansi and utf-8) added.

I have updated the documentation page.
All Classes, Member and Functions now full documented.

Cool. So is this the same as the rev 3 preview we were testing or is it more advanced?

If it is more advanced I'll obviously want to install it. Can I just overwrite the altered files without doing a complete uninstall/reinstall? My package manager doesn't like PortaMx so if I can just overwrite a few files for the upgrade that would be more convenient.
Using Internet Explorer 6 on the internet is like urinating in a public swimming pool.
It's rude, there's no excuse for it, and anyone who does it should be ashamed of themselves.

It's more advanced .. and yes, you can simple copy all files without install.
After copy, clear the filecache and update the settings (Settings manager).

So which files have been modified? No point copying everything if I don't have to. ;)
