Thanks! It is much more friendly than "spage,xxx". But maybe it will be possible to replace "spage" with "pages" or with nothing at all in the future?

Because the url must converted in two ways (SFM -> SEO, SEO -> SMF) we need the a token to place the values at the correct place.
We think on a change spage => pages, art => article and cat => category for SEO urls.

That is happening to me here as well as over at my site with some users but I'm still running SMF 2.0 RC3 and PMX v0.980-1 so I'm not sure it has anything to do with the SEO formatting here.

I'm not sure but i mean that is a problem with the "forever" login cookie ...
We check all that and also the SEO part about this problem.

For CM's and our Supporter we have add a small top center block in where you can see the normal SMF url and the SEO url for the current page.
Also we have added a link (The PortaMx story) in Links block so you can see the differnce between static categories and requested categories.

:D I'm glad to see that! It is not only SE friendly, it is people friendly!
I hope this feature will be in 1.0 Final version of PortaMx.

And also could you explain what kind of PMX-urls we can disallow in robots.txt?

We work on this ...

QuoteAnd also could you explain what kind of PMX-urls we can disallow in robots.txt?

We don't use any special urls .. only page, category, article and error requests.

SMF format;
spage=pagename
cat=categoryname
cat=categoryname;child=categorychildname
art=articlename
cat=categoryname;art=articlename
cat=categoryname;child=categorychildname;art=articlename
pmxerror=errortype

Same in SEO format:
/pages/pagename/
/category/categoryname/
/category[categoryname]/categorychildname/
/article/articlename/
/category/categoryname/article/articlename/
/category[categoryname]/categorychildname/article/articlename/
/pmxerror/errortype/

A minimal robots.txt:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /attachments/
Disallow: /avatars/
Disallow: /cache/
Disallow: /editor_uploads/
Disallow: /fckeditor/
Disallow: /Packages/
Disallow: /Smileys/
Disallow: /Sources/
Disallow: /Themes/

Is the "forever" login problem solved now?
You find any other problems with the SEO links?

Please post any problem you find, so we can make a first release ...

Is it real to make SEO URLs for topics and boards as "/forum/topics/id" and "/forum/boards/id"?
:)
my SMF project with PortaMx - school site.

Feline

No, currently not possible.
Board shown as /board_##.0 (short tags)
    or as /name_of_the_board (long tags)
Topics shown as /topic_###.msg####.html (short tags)
    or as /subject_of_the_topic_###.msg####.html (long tags)

Okay, what about the old URLs ?
Are they automatically converted via 301 redirect to the new URLs,
so if URLs are already inside the Google index, will the Google
Spider still find them ?

2. How does it work ?
Do you also have some code for the .htaccess file where it redirects
the URLs ?

Many thanks.

If you have "simple links" from SSEF this will works, all other not.

Quote

No .. it's not possible

QuoteHow does it work ?

works like SSEF, but faster (more caching) and works correct for wap, wap2, imode, the expandable pageindex and more.
We add the portamx specific urls for spages, categories and articles and have settings for special links.

Hmm,
so if I have something like this :

Code Select
portamx.com/index.php?topic=2189

will this call up the right topic or will this give a 404 error ?

What about the thousands of indexed URLs I already have in the Google
index with my domains ?

Will they all be getting 404 errors then and will not be reachable ?

Will Google index my site then freshly with all the new URLs or
will I loose the page rank I had ?

These are important questions to know, before using this.

Many thanks.

Regards, Stefan.

P.S: I just see,
this:

Code Select
portamx.com/index.php?topic=2189

is already converted to:

https://www.portamx.com/topic_2189.html
in realtime.
So this is nice and it works.

When will you release a test version, so we could try it ?
Still this week or does it still need more testing  ?

Many thanks.

Regards, Stefan.
