Hello,

I have been using the PortaMx SMF mod for a year. It just fits for purpose and works exactly as it is said to. Congrats & Thanks.

However, considering that forum's posts are actually accessible via two different urls, could it be possible that search engines hold the result of PortaMxisation for duplicate content ?
In case of a positive answer, are there known ways to avoid this ? via the robots file ?  via some noindex directive to insert somewhere ?

Why do you use two URLs for the same forum? Somehow makes no sense ...

I can not say whether Google recognizes that as duplicated content.
And noindex makes no sense, because Google that (in my opinion) simply ignore. And to make that via a .htaccess or robots.txt .. hmm  ??? .. I do not know if that's the right way.

But .. that all have nothing to do with PortaMx Portal  ;)
The Portal use only url's from the forum and that is NOT duplicated content  :)

Well, I mean that I get my SMF forum (full) accessible via forum.mydomain and portamxised subforums accessible via forum.subdomain_x.mydomain
Which makes some topic belonging to some subforum accessible via two urls :
- forum.mydomain/index.php?topic=xyzt
- subdomain_x.forum.mydomain/index.php?topic=xyzt

Unless I missed something important in my understanding of course.

Ah .. Now I understand what you mean.  :)
You have the modification PortaMx Subforums installed ..

Well, that's not a problem. Google does not know this subdomain because this is about a virtual domain.

Therefore, no duplicate content arise ..
