Hey feline

I presume it was you that went on my forum to paste the following:

Quote

Hello,
I see you use the Portal Management PortaMx .. but I see no copyright of them. With the download and installation of PortaMx you have acceptet the license.
1. All copyright notices within source files and as generated by the Software as output are retained, unchanged.

Up from now, you have 2 days time to correct that or deinstall PortaMx.

Any copyright that the installation of Portamx added to my source files must be intact, because I have certainly not removed them. If you think the copyright has been removed please advice me where and how it can be put back, this certainly wasn't intentional. I also don't appreciate the manner in which you brought this issue up...

I once had this happen with a test installation of PortaMx. I'll dig up the thread for you.
Using Internet Explorer 6 on the internet is like urinating in a public swimming pool.
It's rude, there's no excuse for it, and anyone who does it should be ashamed of themselves.

If you're familiar with the workings of phpMyAdmin run this query. If you aren't I can talk you through it.

Please lock at the portamx_settings table.
I think, the copyright entry is missing ...

copy follow to a phpMyAdmin SQL textarea and run it.
Code Select

REPLACE INTO `smf_portamx_settings` (`id`, `config`) VALUES
(2, '<span id="pmx_copywrite">\n <a href="%s" target="_blank" class="new_win">%s%s&trade; v%s%s corp.</a>\n</span>'),
(3, '<span style="margin:5px auto; padding:5px; text-align:center; font-size:small; font-weight:bold; color:red; background-color:yellow; border:1px solid black; display:block;">\n Sorry, the PortaMx copyright must be in the template. Display of copyright is a legal requirement.<br />Please notify this forum''s administrator that this site is missing the copyright for the <a href="https://www.portamx.com" target="_blank" style="color: black;">Portal Management Extension PortaMx&trade;</a>\n</span>');

In this case (the entrys not available) hundreds of error are generated in the error log ...

But I see, I have more check that in the future..

Fel
Many are stubborn in relation to the way, but less in relation to the target.

It doesn't work that way with SMF 2. The portal doesn't edit theme files even though the placement of the copyright may make it appear otherwise. It's all taken care of via the PortaMx files.

Basically if the files aren't corrupted, and they probably aren't, running the database query is the way to sort it.
