Add block not working under different theme
« on: 17 Jan 12, 19:39:13 »
I am unable to click the "Click to add a block to XXXX panel" while under a different theme.

I have copied the PortaMx folder from Theme/default to Theme/mytheme and it still doesn't work.

I am pretty sure I am missing something simple.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Edit: The only thing that seems to be working is the "Edit" option.  "Move block", "Permissions", and the rest don't work either.  Probably because they use some sort of script to pop up an element, whereas "Edit" has a link to an actual page.

Use the SMF default theme to check the function ....
Many are stubborn in relation to the path, a few in relation to the target.

I did.  It works under the normal theme.

Trying to figure out what modifications I have to make to other themes so I don't have to switch to the default theme to make changes.

Did you install PortaMx after the themes were installed? Or before? It's a good idea to install the Portal after the themes are installed and then the theme edits can be installed into all of your themes "Display.template.php" file. And if you did install PortaMx after the themes were installed did you tell it to make the edits to the other themes as well? And did any of those install tests fail?

  • I installed PortaMx after the other themes were installed.
  • Yes, I told it to make the edits to all the other themes as well.
  • Display works fine, it's the admin portion that isn't working.

Edit:

Upon further testing and investigating, I see that the form html code is present in index.php?action=admin;area=pmx_blocks;sa=settings for both the default theme (working) and my custom theme (not working).
The form code is there, and the link to the javascript file PortaMxPopup.js.  There are no JS errors that occur.

My apologies.  I haven't been receiving e-mail notifications about replies to this thread.

Here is the link to the SMF forum post with the theme that I am most concerned about:

http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=461787.0

I have viewed the same page under both themes and it seems like all the javascript includes are correct under both.

I am also running the themed version of the page through various W3C validators and Javascript validators to see if there's a syntax error somewhere.

I still cannot seem to find the problem with this.

I really appreciate your help.

Well .. this theme don't works .. why? I don't know .. it's impossible to test it with Web Developer or other tools.
All what I see in the code ... this have nothing to do with a perfect designed SMF 2.x compatible theme.
